The Opportunity:

A Trainee Science Teacher is sought to join a dynamic and supportive Science Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop as a teacher while working with motivated and high-achieving students. The successful candidate will gain Qualified Teacher Status through a one-year, employment-based training program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students at GCSE and A Level.
  • Work closely with experienced mentors to develop teaching and classroom management skills.
  • Participate in a structured training program with one day per week dedicated to professional development.
  • Engage and inspire students with a passion for Science and a commitment to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission of academic excellence and student development.
  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular programs and co-curricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Physics, Biology, or a closely related subject.
  • A strong academic record and a genuine passion for Science and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn, reflect, and develop as a classroom practitioner.
  • Eligibility to attain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Preferred

  • Experience in education or training, either as a graduate or career changer.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
  • Previous teaching experience or a commitment to professional development.
