The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Art Teacher to join our experienced and well-resourced department. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students across all levels, with a particular focus on A Level Photography and GCSE Art.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, challenging lessons across Art and Photography disciplines.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to enhance departmental growth and student outcomes.
  • Utilise and maintain the specialist Photography suite, including Photoshop, to support student learning.
  • Manage large group sizes effectively, ensuring all students receive quality instruction and support.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a diverse range of Art and Fine Art courses across KS4.
  • Participate in the school's innovative working structure, including the Nine Day Fortnight initiative.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and support provided by the school and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Art and Photography.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Art disciplines.
  • Ability to plan and deliver challenging and engaging lessons.
  • Confidence in using Photoshop or willingness to learn with support.
  • Commitment to student success and raising standards in Art education.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A Level Photography.
  • Experience with GCSE Art and Fine Art.
  • Background in delivering courses with large group sizes.
  • Experience in a school with a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Familiarity with the NPQML or NPQSL frameworks.
