The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our experienced team and contribute to the continued success of our students. This role offers the chance to shape future scientists and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across all year groups, with a focus on practical and engaging learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress and achievement, including those studying Science at A-level.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, ensuring their overall wellbeing and academic success.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including training linked to NPQML and NPQSL.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in Science teaching at both Key Stage 3 and 4, with A-level experience preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Leadership experience or a willingness to take on leadership roles within the department.
  • Familiarity with the latest Science education trends and resources.
