The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Music Teacher to join our dedicated team and contribute to the continued success of our students. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following the Eduqas exam board.
  • Develop students’ musical skills, including performance, composition, and theory, with a focus on achieving outstanding outcomes.
  • Support the Performing Arts department by contributing to departmental planning, events, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Lead and manage instrumental lessons and music ensembles such as the school choir.
  • Participate in whole school events, including liturgical celebrations and performances, reflecting the school’s Catholic mission.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level in Music or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable competence in music, including basic piano skills.
  • Experience in teaching music to Key Stage 3 students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic mission and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching GCSE and A Level Music.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in leading or managing ensembles or extracurricular music groups.
  • Experience in working within a Catholic school environment.
