The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an inspiring Art Teacher - Year 8 Specialist to join its founding team and help shape the artistic identity of a new, world-class institution. This is a unique opportunity to deliver bold, engaging learning experiences that foster creativity, technical skill, and confidence in students across Foundation Stage to Year 8.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art teaching aligned with the Cambridge International framework and the school’s educational philosophy.
  • Create an inspiring, inclusive classroom environment that encourages experimentation, originality, and confidence in artistic expression.
  • Design and implement well-sequenced schemes of work that ensure clear progression in skills and creative understanding.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of art exhibitions, performances, and school events.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Creative Arts to review and enhance curriculum quality across FS–Year 8.
  • Support student participation in internal and external creative events and co-curricular art programmes.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection responsibilities, ensuring student safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including co-curricular activities, trips, and community initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Art Education, or related performing arts discipline.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, or international equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in Art, ideally in an international or Cambridge school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum and assessment frameworks (Checkpoint, IGCSE, A-level) is preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience organising and leading art competitions, exhibitions, school events, and co-curricular art programmes.
  • Experience in planning engaging learning experiences and assessing creative outcomes effectively.
  • Technologically proficient in competitive art software.
  • Strong alignment with the values, ethos, and safeguarding culture of the school.
