The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a successful and supportive department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development, particularly in Biology at KS4 and KS5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science at Key Stages 4 and 5 with a focus on Biology.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote student achievement and interest in Science.
  • Support the development of a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students as part of a supportive teaching team.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and staff development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school policies.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and science-related events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Relevant degree in a Science subject, preferably Biology.
  • Experience teaching at KS4 and KS5 levels.
  • Commitment to student welfare and professional standards.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to Science department initiatives.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with supporting ECTs (Early Career Teachers).
  • Background in working within an independent or academically focused school setting.
