The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Art Technician to support a vibrant and growing Art & Design Department. This role is essential in ensuring that students have access to high-quality resources and that practical lessons run smoothly. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and developing the creative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organise, and maintain materials, equipment, and resources for a wide range of Art & Design disciplines.
- Support staff and students by ensuring all practical lessons are well-resourced and run efficiently.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the Art & Design Department.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of art facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with department staff to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in all art-related activities.
- Keep detailed records of stock, usage, and maintenance of art supplies and equipment.
- Provide technical support during art lessons and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of art materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or college environment.
- Understanding of curriculum delivery and student needs.
- Experience with digital art tools and software.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
