The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Art Technician to support a vibrant and growing Art & Design Department. This role is essential in ensuring that students have access to high-quality resources and that practical lessons run smoothly. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and developing the creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, organise, and maintain materials, equipment, and resources for a wide range of Art & Design disciplines.
  • Support staff and students by ensuring all practical lessons are well-resourced and run efficiently.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Art & Design Department.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of art facilities and equipment.
  • Collaborate with department staff to enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in all art-related activities.
  • Keep detailed records of stock, usage, and maintenance of art supplies and equipment.
  • Provide technical support during art lessons and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of art materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college environment.
  • Understanding of curriculum delivery and student needs.
  • Experience with digital art tools and software.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
