The Opportunity:

As a SENCO Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and those with EHCPs. This is a leadership position that requires a passionate advocate for students, with the ability to drive progress and ensure high-quality support across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop inclusive practices for students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure effective support and progress.
  • Manage and coordinate SEN-Support and ARP provisions.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans in line with the school’s expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning support.
  • Advocate for students and ensure their needs are met in a child-centred environment.
  • Support staff across the school in addressing the learning needs of all students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes regularly.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SENCO roles.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion strategies and best practices.
  • Experience working with students with EHCPs and in ARP settings.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with knowledge of relevant policies.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
  • Familiarity with the Keeping Children Safe in Education and BMAT policies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
