The Opportunity:
As a SENCO Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and those with EHCPs. This is a leadership position that requires a passionate advocate for students, with the ability to drive progress and ensure high-quality support across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop inclusive practices for students with special educational needs.
- Work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure effective support and progress.
- Manage and coordinate SEN-Support and ARP provisions.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans in line with the school’s expectations.
- Collaborate with the Inclusion Team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning support.
- Advocate for students and ensure their needs are met in a child-centred environment.
- Support staff across the school in addressing the learning needs of all students.
- Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes regularly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in SENCO roles.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of inclusion strategies and best practices.
- Experience working with students with EHCPs and in ARP settings.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with knowledge of relevant policies.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Familiarity with the Keeping Children Safe in Education and BMAT policies.
- Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
