The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Artist in Residence to contribute to the creative and pastoral life of the school. This role offers the chance to work with students across all key stages and to lead engaging art activities and co-curriculum clubs. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on student development and school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality art activities to students across all key stages.
- Support teaching staff with lesson preparation, classroom instruction, and individual project assistance.
- Assist in the maintenance of art rooms, stores, and materials.
- Run co-curriculum clubs and support the organisation of art department trips.
- Undertake house duties, including supervision during meals and evenings, and support the welfare of students.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to the enrichment programme for boarders.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with students of all ages.
- Experience delivering art activities to children.
- Commitment to professional development in the field of art.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of art materials and techniques.
- Experience with co-curriculum or extracurricular programme delivery.
- Previous boarding school experience or pastoral support experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £13,751 per academic year.
