The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical development of students across all age groups. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and well-resourced music department, while also supporting students in their boarding experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music instruction to students of all ages.
  • Support students in their musical development, including preparation for exams and performances.
  • Supervise and encourage practice in the Music School during evenings.
  • Assist with the administration and planning of concerts and events.
  • Contribute to the extracurricular music programme, including rehearsals and performances.
  • Act as a classroom instructor and assistant in Key Stage 3 and 4 lessons.
  • Provide pastoral support to students as a Residential Boarding Tutor.
  • Undertake weekday and weekend boarding duties, including supervision and house activities.
  • Offer guidance and support to students considering higher education in music.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience coaching music or activities to children.
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching music at GCSE or A-Level.
  • Experience in conducting or performing with ensembles.
  • Knowledge of music technology and ICT.
  • Experience in boarding or pastoral care settings.
