The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Assistant Caretaker to support the site team in maintaining the school’s facilities and ensuring the safety and comfort of the school community. This role is essential to the smooth running of the school and plays a key part in upholding the institution’s values of sustainability and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with minor maintenance and general upkeep of the school premises.
• Support with locking up and setting up lettings as required.
• Ensure the school site is secure and well-maintained during after-hours.
• Collaborate with the site team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
• Follow procedures for health and safety compliance.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and order across the school site.
• Support the school’s commitment to sustainability through responsible resource use.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in a caretaker or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
• Ability to carry out minor maintenance tasks and follow safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to the school’s values.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques.
• Experience with health and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to sustainability and environmental best practices.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary based on hours worked.
