As Head of Economics, you will lead a highly successful department and inspire students to achieve academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance departmental performance and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and interdisciplinary approach to teaching.
  • Promote the school's values and mission through teaching, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
  • Ensure the department maintains high standards of academic achievement and student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Economics.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably as a Head of Department.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Economics education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with international curricula such as the IB or A Levels.
  • Experience with student mentoring and pastoral care.
  • Demonstrable success in improving academic outcomes and student engagement.
