The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level B to join its highly effective Individual Learning Support (ILS) department. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development, while contributing to a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with individual learning needs through tailored interventions and assistance.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities that meet the specific needs of students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, communicating regularly with teaching staff and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to maintain high standards of practice and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, particularly within an ILS or similar department.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Experience with teaching assistants' roles and responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with educational software and tools used in learning support.
