The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to teach History, Geography, or Religion & Philosophy to Key Stages 3-5, and to contribute to a vibrant and supportive learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History, Geography, or Religion & Philosophy to Key Stages 3-5 with a commitment to student success.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Support students in achieving academic excellence through effective teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure effective teaching in second or third subjects.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching History, Geography, or Religion & Philosophy.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic achievement.
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably in a secondary school.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching multiple subjects within the humanities.
  • Familiarity with PSHE and related topics.
  • Experience with supporting early career teachers or working in a collaborative team environment.
