The Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of Rowing and Senior Coach plays a vital role in the success of the rowing programme. This is a dynamic position that combines senior coaching with strong administrative and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of the club while delivering high-quality coaching to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the logistical operations of the rowing club.
- Work closely with the Director of Rowing to implement the club’s vision and strategy.
- Maintain a high-profile coaching presence on the water and deliver effective coaching to students.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, scheduling, and other operational tasks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with club partners and river users.
- Utilise technology and systems to support the efficient running of the club.
- Support and empower the wider coaching team through collaboration and leadership.
- Ensure the needs of students are prioritised in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a senior coach, preferably with British Rowing Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- Strong organisational and logistical skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology and systems to manage operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a large or complex rowing programme.
- Background in educational settings or youth sports.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
