The Opportunity:

As Assistant Director of Rowing and Senior Coach, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations and strategic success of the rowing program. This role combines high-level coaching with strong administrative leadership, ensuring seamless delivery of a world-class rowing experience for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the logistical and operational aspects of the rowing program.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Rowing to align club vision with daily execution.
  • Maintain and develop coaching programs, ensuring high standards of performance and student engagement.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, scheduling, and logistical planning for all rowing activities.
  • Support the coaching team through training, mentorship, and resource management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with club partners and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize technology and systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure the club's administrative frameworks are up-to-date and compliant with all relevant standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a senior coach, preferably British Rowing Level 2 qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics and systems.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the holistic development of young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with co-ed and mixed-gender team environments.
  • Knowledge of rowing technology and software.
  • Background in managing large-scale sporting events or programs.
