The Opportunity:
As a Private Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and presenting meals in a private residence setting. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet the dietary needs of residents and guests. You will work in a supportive environment with access to a modern kitchen and a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare daily meals, snacks, and special events with a focus on nutritional balance and creativity.
- Ensure all meals are delivered on time and meet specific dietary requirements, including allergies and restrictions.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and allergen control in compliance with legislation and internal policies.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and waste reduction to maximise the use of fresh ingredients.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and in line with all food safety documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with the house team to support food-related activities and promote nutritional awareness.
- Provide hospitality for visitors, parents, and VIP guests as required.
- Attend training sessions to stay up to date with food safety, safeguarding, and hospitality qualifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate
- HACCP or allergen management training
- NVQ or equivalent in professional cookery
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow direction
- Experience in private households, boutique hotels, or high-volume catering
Preferred
- Understanding of special diets and food labelling legislation
- Experience in a school or residential setting
- Willingness to engage with the broader life of the residence
