The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Wellbeing, you will play a vital role in promoting student safety and mental health. This position requires a proactive approach to safeguarding and a strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing of all pupils. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and implement safeguarding policies and procedures across the school
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and manage complex cases effectively
  • Work closely with students, staff, and external agencies to ensure a safe learning environment
  • Coordinate mental health and wellbeing initiatives and early intervention strategies
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on safeguarding matters
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide safeguarding and wellbeing practices
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a culture of safeguarding and wellbeing throughout the school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in safeguarding children and young people
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and mental health

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing support strategies
  • Experience in a leadership or management role
  • Experience with multi-agency working and collaboration with external partners
