As an Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Wellbeing, you will play a vital role in promoting student safety and mental health. This position requires a proactive approach to safeguarding and a strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing of all pupils. Key Responsibilities:
- Support and implement safeguarding policies and procedures across the school
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and manage complex cases effectively
- Work closely with students, staff, and external agencies to ensure a safe learning environment
- Coordinate mental health and wellbeing initiatives and early intervention strategies
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on safeguarding matters
- Contribute to the development of school-wide safeguarding and wellbeing practices
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Promote a culture of safeguarding and wellbeing throughout the school community
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in safeguarding children and young people
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and mental health
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing support strategies
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience with multi-agency working and collaboration with external partners
