The Opportunity:
As a Boarding Houseparent, you will provide essential care and support to students in a residential setting, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and academic progress. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a supportive and structured environment for students in the boarding house.
- Ensure all aspects of the boarding house operate in line with National Minimum Standards.
- Monitor and support the wellbeing, safety, and academic progress of students.
- Collaborate closely with the Boarding Leadership Team and other staff members.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and sustainability within the boarding house.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of pastoral care and enrichment activities.
- Support students in developing life skills and independence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a residential or pastoral care setting, preferably in an educational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- A valid DBS check and willingness to undergo child protection screening.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior or leadership role within a boarding environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and pastoral care best practices.
- Experience with A level or GCSE courses and student support.
- Familiarity with sustainability and environmental initiatives.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations.
