The Opportunity:

As a Boarding Houseparent, you will provide essential care and support to students in a residential setting, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and academic progress. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a supportive and structured environment for students in the boarding house.
  • Ensure all aspects of the boarding house operate in line with National Minimum Standards.
  • Monitor and support the wellbeing, safety, and academic progress of students.
  • Collaborate closely with the Boarding Leadership Team and other staff members.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and sustainability within the boarding house.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of pastoral care and enrichment activities.
  • Support students in developing life skills and independence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a residential or pastoral care setting, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • A valid DBS check and willingness to undergo child protection screening.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior or leadership role within a boarding environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and pastoral care best practices.
  • Experience with A level or GCSE courses and student support.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and environmental initiatives.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations.
