The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their education and personal development. You will help deliver a bespoke, skills-based curriculum and work with individual students and small groups to ensure a personalized and aspirational learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of a bespoke, skills-based curriculum tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide personalized learning and care.
  • Contribute to regular assessments and report on student progress during formulation meetings.
  • Collaborate with the education team and other professionals to support student development.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing life skills, emotional intelligence, and social cognition.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your practice.
  • Follow the Restore Framework to ensure care and education are trauma-informed and psychologically informed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A commitment to working towards the HLTA qualification.
  • Experience in supporting students with complex needs or in a residential or secure setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and child development.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or youth work.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and psychological principles.
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people.
  • Experience in a school or care setting.
  • Willingness to engage in reflective practice and supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range from SCP 5 to 7 (£23,560 to £24,427).
