The Opportunity:

As an Assistant English Learning Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the English department and ensuring student progress. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-performing team that values innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning director in delivering a high-quality English curriculum.
  • Promote good progress and attainment across all key stages.
  • Collaborate with the department to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental initiatives and training.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the deputy learning director to identify areas of development and build on strengths.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and creativity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to student progress and academic excellence.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or academy.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and inspection processes.
  • Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience with professional development and training programs.
