The Opportunity:
As an Assistant English Learning Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the English department and ensuring student progress. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-performing team that values innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the learning director in delivering a high-quality English curriculum.
- Promote good progress and attainment across all key stages.
- Collaborate with the department to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and leadership skills.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental initiatives and training.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the deputy learning director to identify areas of development and build on strengths.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and creativity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong subject knowledge in English.
- Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to student progress and academic excellence.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or academy.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and inspection processes.
- Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Experience with professional development and training programs.
