Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons that build confidence and stretch understanding.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all students, including those with additional support requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning.
  • Support students’ academic progress through regular assessment, feedback, and targeted interventions.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, pastoral support, and professional development.
  • Stay up to date with current educational research and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support student learning and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
  • Experience of teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and pastoral care.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Experience of working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
