The Opportunity:

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that support students in achieving outstanding progress. You will help students develop essential life skills through practical, investigational, and theoretical work at Key Stage 3 and 4. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Set clear learning targets and assess student progress with regular feedback.
  • Ensure students are well-prepared for examinations and understand theoretical and practical concepts.
  • Stay up-to-date with national food, nutrition, and technology developments, exam board guidance, and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a varied and stimulating curriculum that aligns with the school’s values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student learning across the school.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills through practical and theoretical work.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Food Technology or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, with the ability to communicate this effectively in both practical and theory lessons.
  • Experience in delivering lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Ability to set clear learning targets and assess student progress with regular feedback.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student groups.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with current trends in food technology and nutrition.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational structure.
