Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured literacy interventions to small groups of students
  • Support students in developing reading fluency, comprehension, and academic vocabulary
  • Work closely with subject teachers to enhance disciplinary literacy
  • Monitor and track student progress using data to ensure measurable improvements
  • Manage and lead the school library provision one day per week
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective approach to literacy support
  • Help close reading age gaps and promote academic success
  • Contribute to a school-wide culture of literacy excellence

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in literacy support or teaching
  • Strong understanding of reading development and intervention strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with students of all abilities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to inclusive education and social mobility

Preferred

  • Experience with evidence-informed literacy programmes
  • Background in working with students with additional needs
  • Experience in library management or resource development
  • Previous involvement in professional development or training
