The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a calm and safe learning environment. You will support students in regulating their behaviour and help them reengage with learning through the RESET inclusion room. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student wellbeing and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol classrooms and corridors to ensure students are engaged in lessons.
  • Support students who require behavioural regulation and escort them to the RESET inclusion room.
  • Deescalate challenging situations and provide positive guidance to students.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Manager to ensure students participate in intervention sessions.
  • Monitor and report on student behaviour and progress in the inclusion room.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture through consistent support and engagement.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance behaviour management and inclusion strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students return to lessons ready to learn.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a behaviour support or similar role.
  • Strong communication and deescalation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the RESET model or similar inclusion programmes.
