The Opportunity:
As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a calm and safe learning environment. You will support students in regulating their behaviour and help them reengage with learning through the RESET inclusion room. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student wellbeing and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol classrooms and corridors to ensure students are engaged in lessons.
- Support students who require behavioural regulation and escort them to the RESET inclusion room.
- Deescalate challenging situations and provide positive guidance to students.
- Collaborate with the Inclusion Manager to ensure students participate in intervention sessions.
- Monitor and report on student behaviour and progress in the inclusion room.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture through consistent support and engagement.
- Attend training sessions to enhance behaviour management and inclusion strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students return to lessons ready to learn.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a behaviour support or similar role.
- Strong communication and deescalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
- Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with the RESET model or similar inclusion programmes.
