The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach science across Key Stage 3 and physics at Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to teach A-level physics.
  • Design and deliver practical, engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, best practices, and support student learning.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme, including STEM events and trips.
  • Support students in achieving strong academic outcomes through inclusive and high-quality teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong specialism in physics (e.g., PGCE in Physics or related degree).
  • Experience in delivering engaging, practical-based science lessons.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and achieving strong student outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the wider school community.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching at Key Stage 4 or A-level physics.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular science activities or STEM events.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
