The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology and Engineering across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan and deliver creative lessons that develop students’ practical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Use a range of assessment methods to track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised, and inspiring workshop environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular programmes such as STEM clubs and design workshops.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver an innovative curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through engaging and challenging teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and Engineering, including the use of tools, equipment, and workshop practices.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to teach an additional material area such as textiles.
