The Opportunity:

As a Religious Studies Coordinator, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality education and shaping the curriculum to enhance student outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum planning and review to ensure alignment with school goals and student needs.
  • Oversee teaching and learning across the department to maintain high standards of instruction.
  • Manage and support a team of teachers through line management and professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement through evidence-based practice and collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Coordinate departmental initiatives and ensure alignment with school-wide priorities.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in Religious Studies teaching and learning.
  • Support student achievement through targeted interventions and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Principal and central trust team to access resources and expertise.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leadership within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies.
  • Experience in curriculum design and review.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-informed practice.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership or departmental coordination.
  • Familiarity with the Collegiate Trust and its professional development programmes.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support strategies.
  • Knowledge of inclusion and diversity initiatives in education.
