The Opportunity:
As a Religious Studies Coordinator, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality education and shaping the curriculum to enhance student outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead curriculum planning and review to ensure alignment with school goals and student needs.
- Oversee teaching and learning across the department to maintain high standards of instruction.
- Manage and support a team of teachers through line management and professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement through evidence-based practice and collaboration with senior leadership.
- Coordinate departmental initiatives and ensure alignment with school-wide priorities.
- Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in Religious Studies teaching and learning.
- Support student achievement through targeted interventions and curriculum development.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Principal and central trust team to access resources and expertise.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching and leadership within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies.
- Experience in curriculum design and review.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-informed practice.
Preferred
- Experience in middle leadership or departmental coordination.
- Familiarity with the Collegiate Trust and its professional development programmes.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support strategies.
- Knowledge of inclusion and diversity initiatives in education.
