The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Economics Teacher to join a dedicated team and inspire students to achieve excellence in Economics. This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning that drive student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Economics lessons that engage students and foster a deep understanding of the subject.
- Lead and support the Economics department, ensuring consistent standards across all year groups.
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and improve student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
- Stay up to date with current economic trends and incorporate them into teaching.
- Mentor and develop junior teachers within the department.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a good honors degree in Economics or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Economics at the secondary level.
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles.
- Familiarity with teaching in a multi-academy trust environment.
- Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
- Knowledge of current economic policies and global economic issues.
