The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Maths Teacher - Second in Charge to support the Head of Department and drive strong outcomes across the department. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a school known for its exceptional results and strong community ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Department in leading and managing the Maths department.
• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages, including KS5.
• Develop and implement successful teaching strategies that drive student achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s strong academic performance.
• Oversee and support the professional development of Maths staff.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to Mathematics.
• Ensure the department maintains excellent standards of behaviour and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Mathematics across the age and ability range.
• Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in Mathematics.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Experience in a senior leadership role within a school department.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on a leadership role.

Preferred

• Experience in a Second in Charge or Deputy Head of Department role.
• Experience with leading departmental improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with the latest pedagogical approaches in Mathematics education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
