The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher (Director of Intervention) to lead and develop targeted support strategies that ensure every student reaches their full potential. This role is central to driving academic success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school’s intervention strategy to support student achievement and attainment.
  • Develop and implement targeted support programs for students requiring additional academic or pastoral assistance.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align intervention strategies with overall school improvement plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to provide professional development and guidance on effective intervention practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies in all aspects of intervention work.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school, including curriculum and whole-school improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong track record in leading and managing intervention strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Qualified teacher with relevant leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within an academy or multi-academy trust.
  • Knowledge of current educational policies and initiatives.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Leadership experience in curriculum development or school improvement projects.
