The Opportunity:

As the Assistant Headteacher - Head of Arabic and Islamic Studies, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and outstanding academic outcomes. This is a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of Arabic and Islamic Studies across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Arabic and Islamic Studies department to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Drive continuous improvement in curriculum delivery and student achievement.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance teaching quality and professional development.
  • Implement and monitor assessment systems to measure student progress and attainment.
  • Ensure alignment with MOE curriculum requirements and KHDA expectations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape school-wide educational strategies.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and lead a high-performing team of educators and support staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Education, or related field and/or postgraduate qualification in educational leadership.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of leadership experience in Arabic and/or Islamic Studies.
  • Strong knowledge of MOE curriculum and KHDA standards.
  • Experience with UAE inspection frameworks and international accreditation systems.
  • Proven track record of raising attainment and improving teaching quality.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment systems.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international or high-performing school environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action.
  • Data-driven and impact-focused.
  • Strong communicator with staff, parents, and senior stakeholders.
  • Culturally aware and sensitive to the UAE context and values.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
