The Opportunity:

As a Primary PE Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the physical education and sports programme for students in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary phases. This is a leadership and teaching role focused on delivering engaging lessons, promoting wellbeing, and fostering a culture of sporting excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver high-quality PE lessons across EYFS and Primary phases.
• Develop and implement a progressive, developmentally appropriate PE curriculum that supports inclusion and enjoyment.
• Promote healthy, active lifestyles and a lifelong love of sport among students.
• Contribute to and manage an extracurricular sports programme, including fixtures and competitions.
• Support student progress through effective assessment and data analysis.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s physical education and sports culture.
• Embrace innovation and technology to enhance PE teaching and learning.
• Act as a role model, promoting teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• A PGCE (or equivalent) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience in teaching PE across EYFS and Primary phases.
• Demonstrated ability to lead PE and maintain an active teaching timetable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, staff, and parents.

Preferred

• Experience in developing and implementing PE curricula.
• Background in extracurricular sports programme management.
• Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in PE.
• Leadership experience in a school setting.
