The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to lead and support the school’s mission of fostering love, flourishing, and social justice. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every child receives the care, education, and support they need to succeed and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the school’s strategic and operational objectives in line with the school’s values and mission.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to manage and develop teaching and support staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of the school’s curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of all students.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all school policies and procedures are followed and up to date.
  • Support the development of staff through training, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Headteacher or in a senior leadership role within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of supporting children with additional needs and Educational Health Care Plans.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the values of love, flourishing, community, and social justice.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative educational structure.
  • Familiarity with autism-specific teaching practices and strategies.
  • Experience in fostering strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Leadership experience in driving school improvement and inclusion initiatives.
