The Opportunity:

Join a school as an Assistant Headteacher Inclusion, leading and developing inclusive practice for all students, with a particular focus on those with additional needs or vulnerabilities. This role will involve leading the school’s Resource Provision for children with SLCN, managing SEND provision, and supporting wider inclusion strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s inclusive practice, ensuring all students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Manage and develop the Resource Provision for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Oversee and lead the school’s SEND provision and act as the SENCO.
  • Support and lead wider inclusion strategies across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to improve inclusive classroom practice.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support students with additional needs.
  • Build strong relationships with families and external professionals.
  • Promote and support the school’s Christian values and ethos.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in inclusion, SEND and pastoral systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in senior leadership or as an SENCO.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice.
  • Ability to manage and develop inclusive provision and support strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience with SLCN and specialist provision.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
  • Experience in leading or supporting professional development for staff.
  • Knowledge of NPQs or similar leadership development programmes.
