The Opportunity:
Join the Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher, leading the Nursery to Year 1 phase of a school. This role combines strategic and operational leadership, with a focus on early years development, safeguarding, and pastoral care. It is an opportunity to shape the future of young learners and make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day provision and strategic direction of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Year 1.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, curriculum design, and pastoral care.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Nursery to Year 1 and support wider safeguarding initiatives.
- Oversee and manage the after-school provision for the entire primary phase.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the school and work closely with the admissions team.
- Support the professional development of staff and maintain the highest standards of care and enrichment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong track record in safeguarding and wellbeing, with a focus on early years.
- In-depth knowledge of child development and learning.
- Experience in implementing and sustaining strategic change.
- Excellent communication and partnership skills with parents and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar leadership role, such as a Deputy Head in a smaller school.
- Background in curriculum design and innovation.
- Experience with extracurricular activities and enrichment programs.
- Familiarity with the diamond model of teaching and co-curricular initiatives.
