The Opportunity:
As the Head of Psychology, you will lead and inspire a high-performing team, driving excellence in teaching and learning. This role is central to shaping the future of Psychology education and ensuring students achieve both academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Psychology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Support and mentor staff to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
- Promote student engagement and well-being through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Psychology and incorporate best practices into teaching.
- Represent the department in school meetings and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Head of Department or in a senior leadership role in education.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A strong track record in delivering outstanding student progress and achievement.
- Qualified teacher with experience in Psychology education.
- Commitment to student welfare and holistic development.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Leadership in a high-performing team.
- Experience with professional development and staff coaching.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and inspection processes.
