The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead and inspire a high-performing team, driving excellence in teaching and learning. This role is central to shaping the future of Psychology education and ensuring students achieve both academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Psychology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Support and mentor staff to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Promote student engagement and well-being through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Psychology and incorporate best practices into teaching.
  • Represent the department in school meetings and external events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Head of Department or in a senior leadership role in education.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A strong track record in delivering outstanding student progress and achievement.
  • Qualified teacher with experience in Psychology education.
  • Commitment to student welfare and holistic development.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Leadership in a high-performing team.
  • Experience with professional development and staff coaching.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and inspection processes.
  • Passion for fostering a love of learning and academic excellence.
