The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal - Pupil Progress, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal development of students with complex needs. You will lead initiatives that drive improvement in pupil outcomes and ensure that every student has a tailored learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Personalised Learning Plans for all students
  • Oversee and support Personal Development, including PSHA and Preparing for Adulthood
  • Coordinate the creation and use of Pupil Support Plans across the school
  • Manage the role of Exams Officer and ensure compliance with external accreditation standards
  • Take responsibility for the internal verification of external accreditations
  • Lead the Pupil Premium strategy to ensure targeted support for disadvantaged students
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement in pupil outcomes
  • Support the Principal in the strategic development of the school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience within an SEN or specialist provision setting
  • Strong experience in improving outcomes for students with complex needs
  • Excellent knowledge of SEN policies and practices
  • Experience in managing pupil progress and development strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in managing Pupil Premium initiatives
  • Familiarity with PSHA and Preparing for Adulthood frameworks
  • Experience in curriculum development for students with learning difficulties
  • Background in working with students with autism
  • Experience in school leadership and management
