The Opportunity:

As Vice Principal - Quality of Education, you will lead and shape the academic direction of the school, ensuring a culture of excellence and high expectations for all students. This is a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement and supporting staff development across the academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management to drive educational excellence and student achievement.
  • Ensure all pupils receive a high-quality education and life experience that prepares them for the next stage of their lives.
  • Support the development of leadership and staffing capacity across the school.
  • Deputise for the Principal and lead the academy in their absence.
  • Implement and monitor curriculum and assessment strategies that meet the needs of all students.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and staff to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and goals.
  • Promote the school’s values and mission across all areas of the academy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an SEN or specialist provision setting.
  • Strong experience in improving outcomes for children with complex and diverse needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and support colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience in curriculum and assessment development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in mainstream education with a focus on special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of ASD, PALS, OT, and SaLT support strategies.
  • Experience in developing and delivering life skills courses.
  • Background in educational leadership and strategic planning.
