Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across both key stages, ensuring engaging and challenging learning experiences.
  • Support and mentor developing members of the teaching team, providing guidance and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with the head of department to shape the curriculum and lead CPD initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support where needed.
  • Contribute to the school’s vision for inclusive and ambitious education.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and wider school events.
  • Stay up to date with educational developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s strong academic reputation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English education.
  • Experience in leading or supporting CPD initiatives.
  • Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong collaborative ethos.
  • Leadership experience or interest in developing leadership skills.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and methods.
