The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. You will contribute to a department known for its innovative teaching methods, strong student outcomes, and commitment to academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a range of English courses, including A Level and GCSE.
  • Support students through regular one-to-one consultations as a Personal Tutor, guiding their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies.
  • Participate in enrichment activities, such as creative writing workshops and Oxbridge application support.
  • Engage students in national competitions and educational visits, fostering a love of literature and language.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring that teaching methods are continually refined for maximum impact.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching materials and share best practices with the department.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in teaching A Level and GCSE English courses.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in mentoring or tutoring students.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with enrichment activities such as creative writing or drama.
  • Background in supporting students with Oxbridge applications.
