Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a successful English faculty with a focus on continuous improvement and high achievement.
  • Inspire and support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Ensure all students are motivated, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and wider Bohunt Education Trust to share best practice.
  • Promote a strong ethos of Enjoy, Respect and Achieve through innovative teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance to maintain and raise standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school-wide initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
  • Outstanding classroom practice and a track record of driving academic excellence.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in managing and developing a department with high student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a successful English department with a strong Ofsted rating.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • A passion for literature, language, and communication.
