Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a successful English faculty with a focus on continuous improvement and high achievement.
- Inspire and support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
- Ensure all students are motivated, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and wider Bohunt Education Trust to share best practice.
- Promote a strong ethos of Enjoy, Respect and Achieve through innovative teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance to maintain and raise standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and school-wide initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
- Outstanding classroom practice and a track record of driving academic excellence.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
- Experience in managing and developing a department with high student outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a successful English department with a strong Ofsted rating.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
- A passion for literature, language, and communication.
