The Opportunity:

As the SENCo, you will be responsible for leading the school's SEND provision and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive. This is a key role in shaping the learning experience for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the school’s SEND provision with empathy and clarity
  • Oversee the completion and submission of Annual Reviews within statutory timeframes
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND-related matters
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, families, and external partners to support students
  • Act as the designated teacher for children looked after
  • Serve as a deputy designated safeguarding lead

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Organised and reflective with a commitment to student support

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with autism and severe learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of ASD, PALS, OT, and SaLT support strategies
  • Experience in curriculum development for students with special educational needs
