The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal Secondary, you will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence and fostering a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and quality assure the activities of staff and students to ensure a safe, orderly, and effective learning environment.
  • Support the administration of the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule in collaboration with the school leadership team.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and Vice Principal to supervise, evaluate, and develop teaching and support staff.
  • Lead the recruitment process for teaching and non-teaching positions, including screening and interviewing applicants.
  • Implement student achievement improvement plans aligned with school development goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of student progress tracking systems, including MAP/Exact Path, and ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Work with the SLT to introduce and evaluate new instructional methods, materials, and programs.
  • Develop and implement staff Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plans to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or B.Sc with PGCE; Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching with performance exceeding expectations.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a middle leadership role.
  • Experience in leading school initiatives that have improved standards and student achievement.
  • Strong experience working with parents and external agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of teaching and learning strategies that raise standards and address learning gaps.
  • Ability to analyze and use data effectively for diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with student achievement improvement programs and standardized testing.
  • Familiarity with CPD frameworks and professional development planning.
  • Experience in implementing school improvement plans and ADEK regulations.
