The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Assistant Principal - SENDCo and Inclusion Lead to drive the school’s inclusion and SEND strategy. This is a pivotal role in shaping a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision.
  • Ensure all students have access to high-quality, inclusive education and support.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to promote student well-being and academic success.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of inclusion strategies and interventions.
  • Support the senior leadership team in embedding inclusive practices across the school.
  • Develop and implement policies that promote equality and diversity.
  • Provide professional development and guidance to staff on SEND and inclusion best practices.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure a whole-school approach to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support.
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school-wide policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
  • Knowledge of Catholic education values and ethos.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student well-being.
  • Familiarity with the latest research in SEND and inclusion.
