The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as an Assistant Teacher in the Early Years Foundation Stage, playing a vital role in shaping young minds and supporting the school’s mission of nurturing well-rounded, confident individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in termly and weekly planning and ensure continuity and progression with other staff.
  • Apply knowledge of the EYFS framework to deliver impactful learning experiences.
  • Set up and manage learning environments, including outdoor spaces, to enhance pupil engagement.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess interventions to support pupil development.
  • Assist specialist teachers in curriculum delivery and school events.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of children, building positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Liaise with the Learning Support Leadership to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Work with class teachers to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support teaching teams with general organisational duties and attend INSETs and professional development sessions.
  • Conduct observations and upload assessments to Tapestry, the online learning journal.
  • Act as a school ambassador by engaging with prospective parents and attending open events.
  • Support the co-curricular programme by running weekly after-school clubs and assisting with after-school groups.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification or above.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams and support the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the education and well-being of young children.

Preferred

  • Experience in early years education or teaching.
  • Familiarity with recent changes to early years curricula.
  • A positive, caring, and creative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Experience with Tapestry or similar online learning platforms.
  • Experience in running after-school clubs or co-curricular activities.
