As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting positive attendance culture and supporting vulnerable students to achieve above-average attendance and punctuality. This position is essential in driving student progress and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance and punctuality on a regular basis.
  • Provide guidance and support to senior and other staff on attendance-related matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance rates across the school.
  • Engage with students and families to address barriers to attendance and punctuality.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and community partners to support student well-being and attendance.
  • Analyze attendance data to identify trends and develop targeted interventions.
  • Support the school in achieving and maintaining high attendance standards.
  • Deliver training and advice to staff on best practices for promoting attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable students and families.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing attendance improvement strategies.
  • Knowledge of education policies and attendance legislation.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Background in working within a high-aspiration, values-driven school environment.
