The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting positive attendance culture and supporting vulnerable students to achieve above-average attendance and punctuality. This position is essential in driving student progress and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance and punctuality on a regular basis.
- Provide guidance and support to senior and other staff on attendance-related matters.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance rates across the school.
- Engage with students and families to address barriers to attendance and punctuality.
- Collaborate with external agencies and community partners to support student well-being and attendance.
- Analyze attendance data to identify trends and develop targeted interventions.
- Support the school in achieving and maintaining high attendance standards.
- Deliver training and advice to staff on best practices for promoting attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience in working with vulnerable students and families.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing attendance improvement strategies.
- Knowledge of education policies and attendance legislation.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
