The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring students maintain excellent attendance and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with families and external agencies to support students and improve attendance outcomes. This is a vital role in contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze student attendance data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Investigate unexplained absences and work with parents to understand and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to improve student attendance.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as social services and health professionals, to address underlying issues.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Work closely with school staff to ensure a consistent approach to attendance and student welfare.
  • Promote the school’s values and ethos through positive engagement with families.
  • Support the school’s mission to transform learning and create a nurturing environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent data analysis and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably with a focus on attendance management.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with parents and carers.

Preferred

  • Experience working with diverse communities and families.
  • Knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures.
  • Experience in liaising with external agencies such as social services or health professionals.
  • Understanding of the Oasis Community Learning ethos and values.
