The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s vision by leading attendance systems and processes. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and effective school environment. This is an opportunity to shape the role as the school continues to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance records with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues to address attendance issues.
  • Coordinate with Heads of Year, DSL/DDSL, and other key stakeholders to support student welfare.
  • Provide a professional and friendly point of contact for all visitors and parents.
  • Support the development and implementation of attendance policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external agencies and support the school’s strategic direction.
  • Maintain strong relationships with staff and students to promote a positive school culture.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of attendance systems and processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a school or education setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to supporting student attendance and welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of attendance management systems.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student support.
  • Familiarity with school administration processes.
  • Experience working with external agencies.
