The Opportunity:

As an IT Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Computer Science and IT education to post-16 students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in A Level Computer Science and Cambridge Technical Level Information Technology.
  • Support students in developing essential programming and technical skills using Python as the primary language.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of departmental teaching resources and course materials.
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching staff to enhance student learning and outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of the tutorial system.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in IT and Computer Science education.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Plus support sessions to enhance student performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in IT or Computer Science education.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support a collaborative department culture.
  • Commitment to student success and a supportive learning environment.
  • Willingness to participate in the school's induction and training programme.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching post-16 students or in sixth form education.
  • Experience with A Level or equivalent IT qualifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Evidence of successful teaching and learning outcomes.
