The Opportunity:
As an IT Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Computer Science and IT education to post-16 students. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in A Level Computer Science and Cambridge Technical Level Information Technology.
- Support students in developing essential programming and technical skills using Python as the primary language.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of departmental teaching resources and course materials.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching staff to enhance student learning and outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of the tutorial system.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in IT and Computer Science education.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of Plus support sessions to enhance student performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in IT or Computer Science education.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, particularly Python.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support a collaborative department culture.
- Commitment to student success and a supportive learning environment.
- Willingness to participate in the school's induction and training programme.
Preferred
- Experience teaching post-16 students or in sixth form education.
- Experience with A Level or equivalent IT qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
- Evidence of successful teaching and learning outcomes.
